SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Off The Hook Fish Fry, located at 1599 Union Street in Schenectady, has permanently closed. The owners made the announcement on the Off The Hook Facebook page on November 8. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! "We would like to thank everyone who supported our business over the last 3.5 years," said the owners. "It has been a fun and rewarding experience but we are on to new adventures."The restaurant's last day was November 22. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An Albany man pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder and other charges on Tuesday, in connection to a homicide that happened in November. Dario Lewis, 32, also pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and third-degree criminal possession. According to the Albany County District Attorney's Office, an indictment alleges Lewis was in the area of 22 Judson Street in Albany on November 11, when at 3 a.m. he intentionally caused the death of another person. Law enforcement says he is accused of having an illegal, loaded, and operable firearm on the same day, as well as November 20. Lewis is set to appear in court on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. A Denver Chili’s allegedly refused a Black family dine-in service unless they provided payment upfront, according to a federal lawsuit filed in late November.Markesha Futrell-Smith alleges in the suit filed in the U.S. District of Colorado against Chili’s parent company Brinker International that the restaurant discriminated against her because she is Black. An investigation is underway Wednesday after a Riverside County sheriff's deputy was involved in a shooting near a gas station in Hemet Tuesday night. The incident occurred shortly after 10:30 p.m. as the deputy was pumping gas in the area of Meridian Street and Florida Avenue.The deputy was alerted to a person standing on the sidewalk holding a handgun, the Riverside County Sheriff's Office stated in a news release. Commands were given to the suspect, but they were ignored, according to the news release. "The suspect continued to manipulate the weapon, and a deputy-involved shooting occurred," the Sheriff's Office stated.The suspect was provided medical aid at the scene and then transported to a local hospital. There was no immediate word on the condition of the suspect.
